The 3D Enkamat structure consists of entangled polypropylene monofilaments, fused at their intersections. Water and air flow freely through the mats, and the strands are ideal for growing a biofilm. The fibrous structure also helps remove liquid droplets from vapour streams.
With a high surface to volume ratio, Enkamat improves efficiency in odour control units and waste water treatment systems. It also helps achieve open flow channels and low pressure drop, and is resistant to compression, organic solvents, degreasing agents, acids and alkalis.
Enkamat is inert, self-supporting and non-nesting, so it’s straightforward to use as a biofilm carrier. It’s also lower in weight than Raschig or Pall rings for a given surface area. Plus, we manufacture it to fit your biotrickling reactor, making installation quicker and more cost-effective.
With Enkamat, you have a choice of polymer – low-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene,or polypropylene – to suit the specific function and purpose of your biotrickling reactor. You can also colour code your filter media, or include a distinctive branding design.
